What is Silicone Laminated AFO?

A silicone sleeve containing within it a thermoplastic shell. The silicone sleeve extends from approximately mid-calf to the ball area of the foot. It opens along the posterior (back) section of the leg and has an opening at the heel area. The posterior opening is secured with velcro closures.

What does it do?

It applies a lifting force to the foot to allow for clearance when the foot swings through and its design allows for a very flexible, thin  and cosmetic AFO. The inclusion of  thermoplastic within the Orthosis provides more structural control than is available when using a purely silicone device. It is not suitable for all foot drop types.
