Additive Conventional AFO
What is it?
One or more struts which extend from a calf band at the top of the calf and fit into the wearer’s shoe via a pin. The Conventional AFO can be 3D printed in nylon or manufactured in metal, with the calf band covered with a soft cushioning material.
What does it do?
Depending on the condition being treated, the orthosis may provide a simple lifting force to the foot or it may provide controlling forces in a medio-lateral (sideways) direction, or a combination of the two.
