What is it?
A foam ankle-foot sleeve which extends from the upper calf to the end of the foot. It opens at the front and is secured with velcro closures. The foot area sits within a solid footplate, secured with velcro straps.Two vertical struts attach to the footplate, one on each side. These extend up to the level of the upper calf and attach to the foam sleeve with velcro straps. The struts have a joint at the ankle which can be adjusted to provide a specific range of movement (ROM) for the ankle joint.
What does it do?
It protects the foot and ankle complex by preventing or restricting movement of the ankle, usually as an aid to rehabilitation following injury or surgery.
