What is it?

The exact construction will vary according to the age of the user and the condition being treated but basically consists of a pair of Ankle Foot Orthoses connected to a metal pelvic band via either flexible cable or rigid side members. There may or may not be a joint at the knee but there will always be a hip joint. The pelvic band encompasses the posterior (back) half of the pelvis and is covered with padded leather which extends to the front of the pelvis. The Hip Knee Ankle Foot Orthosis is secured by velcro strapping.
