Carbon Fibre

 

We are pleased to introduce cost effective custom made carbon fibre orthoses within our orthotics practice.  Utilising an innovative material called post preg carbon which allows the clinician to make fine adjustments with a hot air gun without the orthosis being remade.

The benefits of this material are:

Low Profile design to improve cosmetics

Due to the strength characteristics of the material it allows for orthoses to be designed with minimal trim lines.  This assists with accommodation within normal shop footwear and the ability to cut out windows within the material to improve comfort.

Lightweight

With the material having a high strength to weight ratio we have the ability to manufacture orthoses which are unparalleled in their weight with many of our patients being amazed at the comfort this brings.

Strength

Carbon Fibre material is used throughout industry for its strength.  Utilising this property allows the creation of orthoses for those active individuals that require high levels of control from their device.

Cost

Carbon fibre products are associated with high cost, however due to our cost effective manufacturing processes we have ensured that we have kept costs to a minimum to allow for increased access to these products.

 

Our specialist product design team can produce an Orthosis to meet individual patient requirements.  This can be by assessment at our premises in Leeds or by the provision of a cast by a state registered Orthotist.
