Well it was hard work but we have finally moved into our new premises.  Our new building combines a late 19th century house with a relatively modern single storey glazed extension.  The total floor space is over 12 000 square feet and allows for the development of our private orthotic service with 3 clinical areas including a gait and sports analysis facilities.  With both our manufacturing and clinical facility being on-site we can provide the highest levels of care to our customers ensuring that any adjustments to orthoses can be performed on-site.

There is still some work to finalise but we should be soon ready for our official opening.

We are excited with our new premises acquisition for our private orthotic service based in Leeds.

Following the success of our orthotics placement supervision with Strathclyde University we are pleased to have accepted our first student placement from Salford University’s orthotics department, http://www.healthcare.salford.ac.uk/prosthetics/.

Kathryn had the opportunity to work alongside our Orthotists in an administrative role at one of our contracted Trusts.  By observing the clinics, Kathryn developed an interest in the profession which led to her enrollment on the Prosthetics and Orthotics course at Salford. 

It is good to see her back after 3 years of study and we hope that we can provide her an excellent grounding for her future career.

We are pleased to introduce our range of silicone total contact insoles for the NHS and private sector. 

These insoles differ from the normal silicone insoles in that they are patient specific, made from either a cast a foam impression.

Our studies have demonstrated that these orthoses offer improved pressure distrubution than traditional total contact insoles and have proven to be a valuable device in the prevention of diabetic ulceration.

Our innovative manufacturing process and the sourcing of cost effective materials has allowed the production of these devices at a cost which is only slightly more than traditional methods.

Huddersfield Star Wheeler Mark Thaxter produced some great time trial riding with a win in the Wills Wheels 2up and a club record in the Yorkshire Cycling Federation 50 mile event.

Thaxter teamed up with Tom Broadbent for the 25 mile time trial to clock 53 minutes dead, over 90 seconds faster than the 2nd placed team.

The YCF event was held at Thirsk with the club record prior to the event being held by John Lancaster at 1hr 50min 44sec, set back in 1976.  Thaxter set off at a ferocious pace and although found the going tough over the last 10 miles, finished in a time of 1hr 47min 09sec.
